nope, no rubbing anywhere but the pavement it's on. either way, i'll be glad to be rid of these dunlops when they're totally dead. right now, the rear tires are in the front. it makes me wish i rotated sooner but i honestly didn't expect the NEED to do it so soon.

 

It may be only two of the four but man, I'd consider them totally dead now. Front or back, those tires are dead.

I killed my stock set of dunlops in 27k miles. I have also never seen tires that want to suck up every nail, staple, and screw they go over. I've had 3 punctures with these tires. With over 250k miles driven (amongs numerous cars) under my belt, and many different sets of tires, any previous tire failure was due to something large (sidewall damage from a sharp piece of concrete [leftover sign anchor on the entrance to an alleyway]; and another incident involving a 3ft long 4"x4" piece of wood rolling on the highway while doing 70, didn't harm the car, but that tire was gashed good [halfway through the tread and sidewall]). So I replaced them with 205/50/16's Goodyear Eagle GT's on the stock ge8 sport rims, and the car handles like its on rails rain or shine.

 

Currently I have over 46K miles on my stockers, Bridgestone Turanza 185/55-16's.
Just did a overdue rotation at 40K miles so now the rears are almost gone but the fronts still have a little life left. Probably will last another 5,000 miles before unsafe. Already have a complete set of Hankook 205/50's in the garage ready to install when time is up. If not for the outrageous pricing on the stock size I would have replaced with the same. No big complaints with the tires except $125 plus a tire is too much.

Second summer on them, @30K miles, still a good seasons worth of tread, but will not be taking them into the winter. Going for a set of steelies w/ snows, will replace stock DUNS next summer.

 

I replaced mine at 14,800 miles. The fronts were balding and the rears were down to 3/32". Was not sorry to see them go!

 

Just about to replace my original Dunlops at ~48k

No complaints. On past cars I have had several different brands; Cooper, Bridgestone, and Pirelli. Satisfied with none of them.

I got a price @ Mavis of $121.99 per tire, which includes mount + balance. Fair, in my opinion, considering these tires have lasted me ~15k miles more than any other tires I've ever owned, and the best price I've ever paid in the past was ~$95/tire anyhow. I'll pay for my satisfaction, lol.

Worth mentioning, I guess, that I live in relatively flat terrain, though I have taken many trips to mountainous terrain, and places with no pavement. Also deal with winter here, car is driven in snow and all that crap.

 

The stockers are not nearly as bad as the stockers I had on my 01 ZX3. GY RSA's only lasted 26-28k miles for me. I should be able to eek out 35k on the Dunflops, but then I'll definitely be going 205/50 on the Conti's or some GY FuelMax's...

 

I suspect they would last longer if rotated within about the first 2,000 miles.

 

I replaced the stockers on my 2007 Fit this pass summer. I had one tire that was bulging. At that point I had about 25,0000 miles on them. Yes my 2007 Fit currently has about twenty six thousand miles on it. I really could not believe what a difference it made it going to the Yokohoma's. Much nicer ride, not as noisy and much better handling. They are all season so I am hoping for the best if the snow flies!

 

My OE Bridgestones are being replaced this winter/spring. They have about 27K miles on them. Right now I'm on my Snows so I've got time to keep an eye out for deals. Considering the conti DSW...

That was the plan, however, I decided to dump the dun's, skip the dedicated snows and go to the DWS Conti's. The 205/50/16's are a terrific tire. Already drove down an unpaved drive in 10" of snow without a falter.

30K was what the dealer suggested I would get on the OEMs.

 

LOL, I always find myself saying how the new tires are so great, then I realize that I am probably satisfied because I am switching from old worn out ruined tires.

 

Got 52,000 miles out of my factory Bridgestones. They were almost down to the wear bars. Still good in the wet, but useless in the snow.

 

I dumped the Dunlops (185/55-16) at 26K miles for 16"x7" rims and Conti DWS (205/50-16) on my 2011 Sport AT. The Conti DWS never felt that stiff walled to me and I probably ran them over-inflated to get the feel I wanted. They wore out after 28K miles (live in Pennsylvania summer heat / ice / snow) but if I lived in Florida, they would have been good for another 10K but I'm a "boy scout" when it comes to winter - "Be Prepared".

I felt that the Conti DWS was a little too expensive, so I looked for a less expensive alternative.

At ~55K on the car, I put on General Altimax R43 (205/50-16) and these seem to have a stiffer sidewall and good year-round. I now have ~62K on the clock and still like them. What kind of ticked me off was that over the 6 months following the R43 install, every one of my TPMS sensors failed (one at a time) and I essentially had to pay again to remove and balance every wheel / tire.

Right now, I'm experimenting with tire pressures and think 29 psi is about right for these (205/50-16 General Altimax R43). Depending on the weather conditions when I set the pressure, we see a ~30 deg F temperature swing and my TPMS alert comes on. So maybe on a cold morning (teens) the pressure dropped to ~25-26 psi. Once I fill them to 29 psi when outside temps are in the 20s, they are good for the rest of the winter.
