ccfl halo headlights?

Hello, everyone. Im new to this forum and have been searching for lights like these for months. I noticed they just came out for the ge8 and was wondering if anyone has seen them, tryed them out, etc... I just want to know what everyone thinks. Please post your opinion about them and or reviews if you've used them. I would also like to see a picture of them mounted on a ge8. cant find anything out there about these.

those are definitely interesting.

I bought something similar, but unfortunately, they appear to be JDM spec'd (got mounting issues, that I'm ignoring!). There are a couple of differences.

mine doesn't use CCFL, just LEDs. the low beam is an H1 bulb like the high beam. and it doesn't look like you can easily replace a burnt out bulb in your ebay link, but can easily in the ones I have.

I don't know if H1 is better than H7 for bulbs, but I know that having both low and high beams use H1 means that if one goes out and I need it, I can just swap in the other.

the site i got them from: Lighting ~ Headlights ~ Honda ~ Fit (they "changed" their listing after i got mind to include the one with HID, but I'm not sure if they are actually different). however, they still don't list including the turn signal bulbs... i STILL don't have front turn signals (6 months and counting)

I think the Audi DRL LED's don't work on the Fit very well, I can't see why companies are slapping those on the newer projector headlights. I'd like them if they were less busy- both halos and LED DRL's?!

The stock headlights don't light up the road very well (illustrated well by goobers before pictures). I hope they come out with a simple projector headlight like these for the GD3: FIT/JAZZ 01-08 MK1 Projector Headlight Black HONDA - eBay (item 360170954415 end time Jan-06-11 09:06:36 PST)

??? What before pictures? I never took any. Those two pics of the light output on the wall are low beam (the one with the cutoff) and high beam. The OE headlight would've been practically straight across in low beam, no up angle on the right side.

While there is "a lot going on" with those/these headlights, I haven't connected my LEDs (no halo or "R8" lights)... so at night, you wouldn't notice them unless you walked up to it.

You don't need to have them set up as DRLs like the actual Audis. I was thinking of setting up the "R8"s as part of the turn signal. It's just I don't feel like splicing into the car's wiring harness and been too lazy to create some sort of extension wire. As for the halo... you could have them wired up to a separate circuit altogether (maybe tied to the interior "ambient lights"). Or just tie them into the parking lights, so they only come on once you turn on your lights. like I had on the Mirage (it's still on the car, I just don't have the car. sold it).

My high beam bulb is still used for DRLs.

well...

exactly, its all about tastes. The LEDs may not be as useful for DRLs (I wouldn't use them as such)... but someone likes them. I don't necessarily like the "R8" LEDs much (when not in use), but I think they'd be useful as secondary turn signals... or even primary, since I have none in front right now.

Mistook your high beam pic at the end for your "before," since the OEM headlight beam pattern is a big blur in the center of the road anyway.

Yeah not knockin' anyone, if you want halos and such, more power to you- I'd just opt for anything that gives me a nice spread of light, like your low beams seem to achieve here: http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/3324/img0124bx.jpg.

Thank for the comments. Now, I noticed some of you are talking about splicing wires and such. I know thats to add a custom touch, but when it says that it's plug n play, how do they function? Meaning, are the leds and/or halos on as drls or parking lamps, etc. I know this is more of a question for the seller, but if anyone knows shoot.

I'll be honest, and maybe it's just my sight (staying up late everyday probably isn't helping)... but it doesn't look anywhere near that bright when I'm actually driving. It just seems like the camera made it brighter than it really is. But like I said, maybe it's just my sight. When I had HIDs in the Pathfinder, they looked white with a touch of blue, but my little nieces said they were really blue. *shrugs*

As for the OE headlights... they didn't seem like a "big blur" in the middle. I actually noticed a clean cut off. but they did seem like they weren't as bright as they could be. Maybe the reflector is spreading the light too much and not focusing enough in front. I dunno.

For the lights in the ebay link... there's nothing for you to splice. Everything is self-contained... to the point where I think you're gonna have trouble if a bulb goes out (but that's another issue). The auction says there's no cutting, so that means the CCFL and LEDs are spliced to one of the wires that you plug into... or they should be.

Then again, it says for a professional install only, so who knows.
