Mine averages at 30. I use the air always and my commute is 60 a day. Guess that is ok.
I admire those that are getting 34-35....

um I read the book when I got the car. But I skimmed (does that keep my manhood intact?). Seriously anyone driving a Fit (with auto!) already has questionable manliness or they are man enough not to care.

35.2mpg per the computer last tank. 34.6 manually calculated (no extra clicks). 09 Base auto @24K miles driving Metro Atlanta I285 daily. A bit above average for me with the A/C and, I suspect, "summer blend" fuel.

Ahhh the 285, makes me happy to be near STL. Not dissing you there but I have had better trips to the dentist than trips around Atlanta.

I entertain myself avoiding the pot-holes. Was a little saddened to see the GA DOT guys out patching them this week. Some were prodigious.

I have an automatic. I stay around 70-75 mph. I have a 2010 Fit Sport. Guess I'm just not as lucky.

Couldn't resist.

and Steve... does it matter?

Computer currently is stating 41.3mpg... we'll see how it ends up this Sunday or Monday when I fill up. My week's travel (since I filled up) has been right around 260 miles and the gauge is just below 1/2 a tank. Then again... the 1st half goes for 250 miles and the 2nd half 150... it's the "new math"

Ah, the sport at higher speeds is not quite as efficient.

Actually, the FIT at higher speeds isn't quite as efficient. i regularly get over 40mpg when traveling 45-50mph on country roads. when I get upwards of 55-60mph, the MPG drops by a few. Higher and it is in the higher 30's. The drag on the fit is a killer. Headwinds have a serious impact on economy.

Ditto.

Drag increases exponentially with velocity. Double the speed, quadruple the drag.

I have found the secret to having my fill-ups match my readout for gas mileage. The computer, it turns out, is very accurate. I just need to refill the same way each time. The way i do it is to set the autofill thing on it's slowest speed the last two gallons (it's easy to estimate when you are that close). When it clicks, I am full. No temptation to top off, which many here warn against. That way it fills up the to approximately same level each time (or damn close to it). Since I have been doing that my calculations have been within 0.2 MPG of what the computer is getting. I am about to stop even trying to figure it myself.

That sounds like an excellent system. I'm finding the computer (reflashed) to be accurate, too.

I always warm my engine before driving and the read out goes way down in idle...I wonder how accurate that is and how the computer compensates for being in idle. Ironicly the manual states to warm your vehicle for better mpg.

The tank on the ge are like 10.5 or 10.6 and when the nozzle kicks off you should have approximately 10 gallons.I have read its not good to top it off... I think because a vehicle has the potential to stall without some air in the tank.

Computer is currently reading 46.5 with 200+ miles on this tank I'll be doing some more "urban" (that's about 15 stoplights worth of driving here in VT) this weekend but I'm hoping it doesn't drop too much before I refill. At this point, with the computer regularly being 1-2mpg higher than my calculations, I'll probably be at 44mpg on this tank.
