You probably won't notice any change with one fill up, I would recommend several fills to make sure there's only 93 octane in the tank.

(less drag improving air flow might equate to extra mpg?)
Someone here in Fort Myers, FL made one. With a little modification the belly from the CR-Z will "Fit". I don't know the exact specs but they did say that there was a difference in the drag. I'll find out more if I can...

Hey JJRBUS - told my hubby you were in Lee County and he wants to know if you're interested in a photo shoot. PM us if you are! SWFLGE8 or SWFLEJ1

Way cool, any information would be helpful, even if it's raw information really. like with belly pans, is there a certain shape or contour these should have in certain places to improve air flow or is it just to have a smooth bottom?

I read a few more people who did it (didn't say how or what they used though) and it's about 1.5-2.5mpg increase from what I've read.

Took a road trip with my 2011 base fit with auto. About 800 mi total. Speed ranged from 55 to 80, mostly in the 75 MPH range. One fill up was 34.14 MPG the second was 38.08 MPG. I'm happy with that First tank was lower due to some around town miles on it.

I played with the AC I cannot see a difference between high and low speeds on fuel economy?

Once I get much above 65 mph I don't do much better than 34-35. You did well, in my opinion.

Plus--you had the fun of a road trip. Any pictures?

Cheers.

You won't. The High & low are FAN speeds, not speed of the A/C Compressor itself. Just like adjusting the temperature won't change the A/C Compressor. it cycles on and off periodically and adjusting the temperature is only raising or lowering the heater temperature that is mixed with the A/C's Single temperature cold air. It's the mixture of the Heater and A/C which makes it comfortable. either way, the AC is either ON (cycling periodically) or OFF.

Someone reported they got better fuel mileage with the blower on lower speeds. So though I would play with it. I have noticed at lower speeds 30/40 mph it does appear to make a difference. Not a scientific study and I would not bet any money on it, just appears!

Guess I need to order those pyramid shaped magnets for the fuel lines JIm 0311

On lower speeds the fan moves less air. Less air to cool means the compressor runs less (it's controlled by thermistor on the evaporator coil). So less fuel should be used for the A/C at lower fan speeds. But I doubt the difference is enough to notice.

Just kidding about premium gas.

I wonder if I mistakenly put premium in for my second tank?

I'm almost at 28K miles and just got my best tank ever; 42.58mpg. Went 264 miles on 6.20 Gal of gas.

Too many hills where I live. Overall average since I purchased one month ago today = 36.2mpg (calculated) over 3788 miles. One tank that I did mostly fwy averaged 38.77. Hopefully it gets better, even so, much better than the 23mpg of my old 06 Tacoma.
