What is best for removing adhesive from finish?

A word of caution to some folks:
Peanut butter is actually abrasive (tiny pieces of hard nut)
Erasers are designed to be abrasive
You must always be careful about anything you are considering rubbing across your clearcoat to avoid fine scratching.
