do mirrors fold the opposite way?

I know you can fold the mirrors in, but I was wondering do they rotate the other way (towards the front of the car)? Just wanted to know in case it gets bumped in that direction, if it will break or not.

I inadvertently found out that they do fold forward while backing out of the garage one day.

Mine do, and I found out the same way. It does, however, now creak and pop in ways it didn't before.

Yeah they fold both ways. They will also shoot off the stalks if you play bass loud enough.
