Turtle Wax and most major detailing product brands make bug and tar removing solutions. You can get a can at your local Walmart or any auto shop.

Actually most of the bug & tar removers are just petrolium based solvents that only work well on the tar portion of the bug & tar.

Look for bug remover that is enzyme based and specifically attacks protien. That will get the bugs off.

Water and Dryer sheets...

You'll have to wash and wax after using them, but they take bugs off with no effort at all.

it might be a little late for this but you local auto store should have bug removing cleaner. the one i used before came in a dark purple spray bottle with green printing.

here's a picture of my 09 si, when i still had it, after a trip i took to the bay area for my graduation! the stuff worked like a charm.

Bug condom for trips

How about carefully applying clear food wrap across the front bumper area if you're going on a long trip? If it loads up, just peel it off and apply another strip. Won't hurt the paint and is super-cheap. Maybe moisten the bumper first so it sticks good. Just be sure don't block radiator airflow

That is a good solution, but for not too much money, you could always buy Road Warrior Paint Protection. Roll it on to a clean car and you can peel it off after a road trip or you can wait until the end of the month (or longer) and reapply. Good for stone chips, too.

As for removing the bugs that are already there, I second the dryer sheet, but make sure you soak it good before using it and to scour the shit out of the affected area, otherwise you will get scratches. To remove the majority of the bug guts, I use hydrogen peroxide. Won't damage the paint and foams up the guts for easy removal!

Here's another vote for dryer sheets.

I've been using them for years on a variety of cars.
