GE8 OEM visor Installation help

Helo friends,

I am sorry if this topic has been discussed for quite a while, and it is not that I have not looked into any of it, but I have searched almost everywhere in this forum and I couldn't find one that helps me through my problem.

There is one post by MIKEJET that shows DIY step by step with pictures, but for some reason those pictures don't show up with me. It only shows exclamation marks on the thumbnails. Seems to me the web host of the pictures has expired or something like that.

I have the PDF manual from Bernardi with me, but there is still one thing even the manual can't show quite much sense to me. The thing is the exact location to attach the long and short EPT sealers inside the run channel of the back windows.

The diagram on the manual only confuses me. Those who have been through this matter must be very familiar with what im talking about here.

Can someone kindly enlighten me through these steps? The rest of the steps in the instruction are fairly straightforward, just these few steps really give me a dead end to the whole thing.

For your time and concern in this matter, I deeply appreciate it.

Thank you very much

with the strips, i honestly kinda just stuck them in the channel and made the most sense out of it as i could. i don't think it really matters much though, i haven't had any issues with them but i'm not 100% sure. i don't really see the need to install them to begin with.

^^ Same here, I just kind of put them in the spot that made the most sense. Install took about 30 mins from start to end.

I think you can do the install without them.

thanks for your reply veilside and fitted...

I followed your advice to stick the sealers on wherever makes most sense, and in my case I sticked it on the in-most-section of the side, where it sits exactly next to the folded edge of the run channel.

Excuse my abbreviation here, but I hope you guys understand what I am talking.

Do you think it is still okay to do it that way?

I haven't seen any problems with it, windows run normally so far.

Yeah I don't see the reason u want those foams in there really.

Thanks again, it looks great on my car, the rest of the steps are easy as expected.

Cheers guys

They are there to keep the windows from rattling when they are slightly open.

Sounds like you got them in about the right spot.

thanks for ur reply Chad, did you do it the same way I did?

The "side" here is the side where the sealers should be sticked on according to the diagram shown in the manual (at least that's what I interpret from what I saw in the cross section thing)

Thanks people

Yeah I think so. Of course you're never quite sure about those stupid foam strips..

But they should stick on the inside towards the car and push out on the seal that contacts the inside of the window...at least that's how I understand it.

The back one goes right below the corner bcause the upper part of the window comes out of the track as soon as it's lowered.

Hope that makes sense. really hard to communitcate such things in a typed message.
