'09 Fit: doors don't all unlock properly

There is something wrong with the door locks on my ’09 Fit. Sometimes, whether I am using the key in the door itself, or using the interior lock switch, not all the doors will unlock. If I am trying to unlock them with the switch on the inside, I have to lock it again, then unlock it, after that all the doors will unlock. It started out with the front passenger door, and that was intermittent. For a while I just thought I wasn’t turning the key fast enough. Now the front passenger door rarely unlocks properly, and the rear door on the driver’s side will do the same thing randomly. Also, I noticed I can hear the electric motors or actuators or whatever they are before I hear the doors lock or unlock. I am no mechanic, but hey don’t sound good. As my girlfriend put it, my “door locks sound like they are sick.” This is a stock, manual transmission, ‘09 Fit, 66K, with no keyless entry or door alarms or anything aftermarket installed.

I have an 08 and 09 Fit. Both have extremely quick and snappy door locks with the snapping sound. If you're getting draggy sounds out of only a few of them, the actuators are having problems. If you can get to them, spraying ACF-50 directly into them might help bring them back. If they're all slow, then there is "probably" a system problem and would have to be diagnosed better. I think, you and your girlfriend should try to isolate which of the door locks seem to snap "noisily" and go from there.

Sounds like the symptoms mine was exhibiting which eventually led first to the superlocking and then to the (apparent) failure of all three passenger locks. Dealer quoted £860 to fix but I did it for £29 as described here... HOW TO: Fix a power door lock
