I just checked on the headlights.. they are identical, the 2012 are just painted black on the edges. They will fit perfectly in any 2009+

 

They're the same units. Of course they'll fit.

I doubt they're even "painted" black, just molded black and not finished like earlier model years! It's a cost save and simple change!! (I worked in automotive for 16 years).

 

The 2012 North American Fit is using the previous RS headlights if I am not mistaken (looks like it anyways). The new ones will fit the earlier model GE8s there, here in Japan, the new model RS headlights can not just be swapped without also swapping fenders and bumper. The hood is still the same between the 2 though.

 

Swapped today and they fit perfect.

Between the JDM and USDM? or within the JDM models?

 

The USDM has that Barbara nose thing going on so the hoods are different between the shinkansen nosed one and well your Barbara. The Japanese models even though different bumper, headlights and fenders still share the same hood.

To answer the question...no.

I'm using these as a solid pair while collecting parts/$ to redo my previous retrofit. I'm not sure what I'll do with them after....I'm really loving them.

I was really unsure about it on the CBP, thought it might be too much black. Let me tell you, one of my favorite mods. Looks AMAZING!

 

Thanks... I know, I haven't washed my CBP in 2 months, due to the weather...

I got some chrome accents around the car so the headlights as is will be ok, but I think the black/chrome on the 2012's might compliment it better with the combination of the two. Just not sure if I want to buy the new headlights or just take my time & mod my current ones.
