My TPMS

My TPMS light came on so I checked all my tires and inflated them to the required 35PSI and by the time I went ~ 200', the light went out. Nice to see all aspects of my Fit work perfectly.

Glad to hear that it worked adding air. My new car already had the TPMS come on during the first frost. Stayed on until I got to work and has not been on since for about a week. I have not check the tire pressures yet but will when I get a chance. It was probably water frozen on the sensor.

Mine came on today too. A visual inspection didn't show any tire significantly more deflated than the others. I'm going to check the tire pressures tomorrow and hope that the sensor is working and not broken

My last few Hondas the light always came on during season changes. Only once I had to add air and the rest of the times the light turned off by itself. I am sure the sensor is OK. Worse case the sensors might need to be recalibrated.

I believe the system alarms when a tire drop maybe 4 pounds or more low, which is within seasonal change expectations (especially if a tire is a little low to start with).

I'm not used to having a tire with as low a profile as the Fit but when I checked them, they were all down to 25PSI

this summer mine got down to that range, and amazing how my gas mileage bounced up when they were back to 33. Maybe 3-3mpg with my AT.

Checked them today. Three of them were at 28psi and one was at 26psi. I got all of them back up to 32-33psi and the light turned off.

Glad to hear the mpg came up and the light turned off. I will have to watch the air pressures better.

I am going to recommend keeping a tire pressure guage in your glove box and checking the tire pressure at least weekly. Being the most important part of the car (closely followed by the breaks!) they should be kept up with. Although it's nice to see not everyone ignores the funny light on the dashboard (I have seen it so many times!).

yah, especially this time of year when temps drop. easy way to remember is 1psi change for every 10F ambient temp change.

My TPMS light came on yesterday due to the cold and added a few pounds in each tire. They were not that low but still the light still came on. My wifes car light came on this morning but went off after the tires heated up. I have to add air tomorrow in her car.

Thanks Kenchan for the info I will have to remember to add air in the tires again before the temps drop to cover the loss.

happened a few weeks back on both the Ridgeline and FIT. Pumped them all back up to 35-36psi as we've had temp fluctuations here ranging 30 degrees or more. Was in the 30's overnight here.

I love having the TPMS in the fit and ridgeline. Wish the Fit told me which tire was low though like the RL Does.

I don't either. Mainly because of the added cost. Though I am regretting not getting sensors, can't turn the VSA or Traction control off (well, with the button...)

yah, honda did realllly f- it up for us modders for sure. other cars (even my 09 GE) tpms error light comes on but doesnt affect anything.

i mounted the stock tpms in my current set that i will use though winter. was a hassle.

They're pretty decent. they kick in at the same pressure on all four wheels for me (25/26psi depending on the tire gauge I use) it's handy in the fall/winter when temps drop. In the winter I run Snows without the TPMS sensors but by that time, the temp doesn't fluctuate that much that my snow tires need regular inflation. Temps range here from just below zero to low thirties so a few lbs of pressure change doesn't impact me that much as I run about 4psi above the factory recommended.

I think thee only mistake honda made was not making it owner programmable. The cost has come down on these and they do perform an important safety function for 99% of the population. Those of us that check tire pressure also benefit as the light will go on in others' vehicles getting most people to fill up. I live across from a gas station with a free air pump and the majority of vehicles I see filling up on colder days have relatively new vehicles. (so likely the TPMS sensor went off)

Unless you have the 09 w/Navi like I do (since it came with VSA).

Been too busy to get the new sensors & ATEQ for my other set, but that's the way to go. Forget about the dealer thieves.
