Farewell FitFreak
Farewell FitFreak
Dear FitFreak,
I haven't been on this forum for a really long time, but this has been a somewhat helpful place for me when I purchased my GE8 back in 2010 and helpful when I had issues or mod ideas. So I want to come back and say farewell.
I traded in my Fit for a 2012 VW GTI. I just graduated and no longer have a need for the fuel efficient Honda Fit. Although the GTI still gets me around 27mpg, which is not bad considering it has twice the hp and tq. Honestly, the Fit was great to me and got me from A to B, but sometimes getting to B was a struggle with it. Going up mountains and hills at 50 while everybody was tailgating me was a pain x.x I'm quite happy with the GTI.
With that being said, farewell FitFreak!

As a fellow VW owner, congrats! There are few things that can compare to the fit and finish of a German made car, but there is a draw back. Be prepared, if you intend to do so, to shell out loads of money to modify it. Fit owners don't know how good they have it when it comes to the cost of parts.
Edit: Keep in mind most MK5 parts (suspension, motor, interior) will fit your generation.

Congrats on your car, I look at the GTI but they just announced the next generation coming out back in 2012. People complain about dealers not dealing on the Fit I found the VW dealers worst not willing to budge on price or only offering a small discount. Great car.
sounds like the op landed a good paying job so he doesn't need to care about saving a few bucks here and there, and just enjoying life.
sounds like a winning story to me.
nothing wrong with saving money. i dont like to be strapped down either.

Good for you bro.....congrats on both the graduation and the new car.
Wouldnt mind doing the same but since my fit is paid off and has 102k on it, not sure if its worth getting back into debt.
Power wise I've had only a few situations where I needed the power but this little fit loves to rev and with a prm intake you can really enjoy listening to the hamster roar when you hit 4-5k on it.
I'm waiting to see what Honda has in store for by 2015 otherwise I might have to go to another brand.
best of luck to you with the GTI. It really is a sweet ride

This is now a thread on why he should have gotten a Focus ST.
"The meatier, more engaging setup of the Focus ST only amplifies just how weak the Volkswagen is"
