Unhappy Broken wheel stud = new wheel hub??

Hi all,
One of the wheel studs on the driver's side front wheel of my '09 Fit Sport model broke off. The dealer is telling me I need to replace the whole wheel hub to the tune of ~$300. Am I getting ripped off? I keep seeing on here that you can just take out the old bolt and put a new one in, so I'm wondering why the dealer wants to replace the whole thing. Any comments would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Because they order the entire hub complete and don't change individual studs. They do this for liability reasons, not to rip you off. But yes you can change individual studs.

That reply is not correct.

We replace studs all the time.

Part number on the stud is 90113-SM1-005 and the only reason why they wouldnt change it is if you cant sneek it out of the hub without pressing the hub off the knuckle.

Tell them to stop being lazy and replace the stud.

have them replace the stud. If they refuse, ask them to direct you to a honda dealership that will.
