I can't answer that one either. In fact, I'm not sure I've ever seen that color on a late-model Honda. I'm guessing it's a shade of metallic aqua-marine? If so, I'm in.

Definitely not aqua-marine. More of a periwinkle type of blue. I just love blue and figured that the lighter color (vs. the much darker Blue Sensation - great color too!) would look cleaner in our long Canadian winter months.

Here are the pictures posted last week at a dealership in Montreal.

The '08 Tidewater that I saw was NOT the above color, but a light blue with green in it. I would call it aquamarine, but pastel. Is that an '09? Probably not, huh? Maybe my eyes aer messed up, but I thought the one I saw had green in it.

I have to say that I like that color.

Im one of those that wasnt fussy about the '09s...but they are growing on me. I could see myself driving one of those when I replace my '08. Hopefully in a hybrid though!

Imagine it with nice tints! Very unique color too. Now I'm just hoping it comes to Canada! Should find out tomorrow since my dealer is meeting with the Regional Honda sales manager. Placed my order July 18 for a 2009 Honda Fit LX AT in Tidewater. Otherwise, Blue Sensation...

Well I may not have a choice here in Canada! Wonder why no one in Canada has posted our color choices for the 2009 yet? Obviously we need more Fit spies/insiders up here!

the 2008 TWB was MUCH lighter than that. Really a washed-out blue, IMO. I think I'd have a hard time choosing what color to buy! The colors are a huge improvement so far.

Thanks, F.C.G. Yeah, that is a nice color. And the lighter colors don't show the swirls and other paint defects over time as the darker ones do.

Still, I prefer an aquamarine metallic. Actual ocean "tide water" has a greenish tinge to it, hence the name "aqua-marine." Honda calling the above "tide-water" is like coming up with a color like "fire-truck blue." Doesn't make much sense.

Honda's tide-water blue looks more like one of the popular colors used on Easter eggs when I was a (much younger) kid.

In spite of the drawbacks of darker shades I may yet choose the darker blue. We shall see...

I would call the new blue "Periwinkle Passion," and periwinkle has always been one of my favorite colors in the Crayola box. The '09 color is more like "Cornflower Blue."

At this point, most of the action is on the "2009 Fit Prices Paid" thread.

I guess a lot of folks are tired of the speculation.

Personally, I'm ready to see this sucker in the field.

Honda has finally got their full website up for the '09 Fit.

2009 Honda Fit - the Official Honda Web Site

For those looking to see the Orange Revolution Fit, just click on "Colors", and then the swatch for your color, and it gives an image of the vehicle in that color.
