New user here. I'm glad to have found a dedicated Fit resource site.

I'm looking at some used Fits and was looking for some opinion. I just had a pretty lengthy inspection/test drive of a 2011 base model DX (I'm in Canada by the way). Everything looked like it was in good shape. Some scratches on the rear bumper but nothing serious. Couple of things I noticed were that the driver's door lock doesn't lock from the inside (no power locks on this one). I was told that it was a security feature to prevent locking the keys in the car, and that you have to lock it from the outside with the key. Is this true? I've tried to research it but haven't been able to find any resources that confirm. Seems like it would be annoying to have to lock it with the key all the time.

I also noticed that the daytime running lights weren't on, but this was when the car was in neutral with handbrake on. I forgot to verify if they came on once the car was in gear/brake off. Is that normal also?

It's a 2011 DX, no cruise, no power locks, 81k KM (50k miles), clean CarProof/CarFax. Could get for 7k CAD (5.4k USD) before taxes. Whaddya think? I thought it seemed like a deal compared to other 2011 that are priced higher. Actually thought was... strangely inexpensive.

 

To lock the door from inside, lift the inside door handle while you lock the door.

At least that worked on many Hondas I owned over the years...


The DRL will only turn on when the handbrake is down. Once they are on, they will only come off when the car is shut down.
