clicking sound when braking. any thoughts?
any thoughts on this: recently i've started hearing a clicking sound (for lack of a better description) coming from the rear when i brake. the sound only happens occasionally, but daily. sometimes it happens when i brake hard, sometimes it doesn't. sometimes it happens when i brake at slow speeds, but sometimes it doesn't. any thoughts on the matter are appreciated!

Any other symptoms? Does the car pull, vibrate, knock, etc., when you apply the bakes?
If we were talking about the front, I would say that this could be a non-issue — simply the pads moving a little as you apply the brakes. But you have drum brakes in the rear, and, frankly, I'm not an expert on drum brakes.

but, FWIW, later in 2016, i occasionally heard a crunching sound when i hit the brakes for the first time on trips. months later, i had a "full brake fluid flush" and the crunching sound went away. apparently Honda recommends this service every 36,000 miles, and it is completely independent of the standard brake fluid job.
