Another OEM shocks question
Hi all.
I have basically 2 questions.
Any of you who've repaced their OEM shocks due to wear/other issue, can you list the symptoms you were experiencing to suggest the need to replace them. Here are mine, which I'm not certain are related to the shocks:
- knocking noise from driver front over bumps
- thumping noise sometimes in pass rear over low speed bumps
- when going straight and hit certain bumps, rear skips a little to right. Even worse if turning left. (alignment is supposedly in spec)
- sloppy handling sometimes. Generally when only making gentle mild left sweepers. Can feels weird, like rear is rotating in opposite direction and also now has awkward body roll (ON GENTLE LEFT SWEEPERS). Making gentle right sweepers there's no real roll
- just doesn't feel as button-down as before. Before it felt like it was on rails, low to the ground
Other question:
Did you purchase OEM shocks from online? Is this advisable versus going through dealer? If so would I just need the shocks? (I just had front control arms and bushings and rear sway links replaced.
Thanks.

I have not replaced shocks on a Fit, but . . .
1) Have to visually inspected shocks for leaks and shock installation (bolts and nuts)?
2) What is happening with your traction control system? Everything normal there?

There were no leaks from shocks. But something is getting progressively looser up front, which started around the same time I started to feel the weird handling.
I don't have VSA/ traction control.
