Goodbye to my Fit

Hi all,

I've been a member of this board for some time now and bought my '09 Fit new back in '08. This board and my Fit have been a big help to me over the years. As you can see in the pics I was involved in a bad accident in which the Fit did all it was supposed to do to protect me. I was rear ended by a Freightliner truck and pushed into 3 cars ahead of me. He had to be going near 55mph as he never hit the brakes. I feel very fortunate that my injuries aren't worse than they are.

Glad you are okay!
Appears the Fit absorbed the impacts well.

So glad to hear that things weren't worse than they were! Hope you heal quickly and completely. Sorry about your Fit, but it sounds like it worked really well in the crash, especially considering you were hit by a Freightliner!

Thanks for all for the well wishes! Yeah couldn't have asked more from the Fit. I'd like to get another one, but it will probably be a few years down the road. Due to my growing family we are going to get an Odyssey. That would leave me to take my wife's Civic. But who knows down the road a few years, maybe I will go back to the Fit. It was the most reliable car I've ever owned.

patm95: You should save the gear shift knob from it or broken emblem as a keepsake.

Wow, that's quite a wreck and the fit took it admirably. Glad you are ok.

What kind of injuries did you suffer?

Thank you for all of the good well wishes! Well I suffered a broken hand and a concussion most of all. I scraped up my leg and had the general stiffness/soreness that comes from a wreck like that. The concussion has been the worst of all. Not much to do about it from what I understand other than rest and time.
