How to disconnect plugs from back of ecu?

Has anyone had to disconnect the plugs from the back of the ecu? I know there is a push clip but I push it down and it doesnt want to come off. Do you just have to pull hard? Thanks

The plugs on the back of the ECU has levers. Push them towards the ECU to lock them in, pull them away to release.

Thanks goobers. Is it one or 2 levers per plug because I can only see one thing to push or pull.

Once the lever is pulled all the way back, you should be able to pull the plug out though it could be VERY TIGHT... use a flat tip screwdriver to pry it off..

As for running the supercharger without the piggyback... well, that depends on who you talk to. I've been running my Sprintex unit without the piggyback (had to undo the splicing in the engine harness) for the last 4 years. Am I getting optimal performance? Probably not... but it's still far better than stock. So, I think you can probably survive a day.

That said, if you have cut wire (old install method) or plugged in a harness (new method)... then you need to plug in the piggyback or dummy adapter if you have one (the adapter electrically reconnects the wires that were interrupted). If not, the engine won't run normally and eventually trigger limp mode.

Different vehicle and ecu location, but same type of plugs I believe.
