Which oil and filter are you using?
Most filters aren't recommended to go longer than 15k. When I've done 25k change interval (after doing oil analysis to determine it was fine) I changed the filter halfway through the oil interval and topped off with fresh oil to make up for the loss from changing the filter.

We might also not that you're not required to go to the dealer -- by law, you can have service done by any mechanic, and this does not void the warranty. Even the owner's manual itself mentions this.

Meanwhile, in the screwing-up-oil-changes department, about 25 years ago, I was driving along in my '88 Hyundai Excel, when all of a sudden, the oil light came on. I shut off the engine and rolled to a stop. Started it again, but when the oil light didn't go out in a second or so, turned it off. Pulled the dipstick. Nothing. Called a garage for a tow.

They called me back to say, "This car has no drain plug -- your oil leaked out all over the road!"

I had done the last oil change myself, so I obviously must have had some serious brain fade and not tightened the plug enough, and in a few weeks of driving, it worked itself loose and fell out!

I held my breath and told them, put in a new plug, fill it with oil, start 'er up and see what happens.

No damage, and I drove the car another 6 years or so! This a HYUNDAI, at the time, the cheapest new car you could buy!

im using the extended life Mobil 1 oil and fram filter, but also a healthy dose of forgetfulness and neglect. I usually do the changes closer to 15-20. until recently my daily commute was close to 200 miles RT so the miles add up quick if you are busy a few weekends!
