Drivers side brake light issue.

Good evening everyone!

I'm having a little issue with my '10 Sport and it's drivers side brake light. The bulb lights up when switched on and while using the key fob, but when I apply the brakes, the light will not come on. I first swapped the plug base with the passenger side, thinking it might be a bad plug, which would be easier to fix, but unfortunately got the same result, no dice. So this must be a wiring problem. Before I'm finally able to take the car to the local electromechanic, anyone have any idea how to inspect the wiring and possibly fix this at home? Thanks for the attention, hope to hear from you guys on this!

When you swapped the plug base, did you also swap the bulbs? Even though the bulbs light up when on the first light setting, the brake light is a separate filament.

I wish it were that simple, but I swapped the bulbs and also checked them when I did to see if anything was burnt out, but no dice.
