Oil Life 15%-A12

I was driving home today and a Wrench icon lit up on the dash. It told me I had 15% Oil Life and came up with code A12.

I checked the code and it said this means it's time to change the oil and replace the filter. I just had my oil and filter changed about a month ago. I believe I just forgot to reset the oil life on the dash. I just want to confirm that this message pops up based on the last time you reset the oil life monitor on the dash, not any sensors noticing there's anything actually wrong with the oil/car. Is that true?

I'm assuming there's a separate low oil/oil pressure light?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Confirmed. Just reset the MM. Instructions are in your owners manual.

x2 on what Wanderer said.

There is a low oil pressure idiot light (the typical dripping scoop icon), but nothing specifically for oil level. So far as I know, there is no oil level sensor as such; you have to check that the old fashioned way with the dipstick.
