Bought a 2012 Fit in Jan 2015 with 42k miles used. Since May I keep hearing squeaking coming from what I think are the front disk breaks. I have had the brakes checked by 2 different mechanics, Both said besides dust collecting they are fine. Cleaned with brake cleaner and the sound went away for 1-2 days, then started back up.

Was talking to a co-worker and he said he thinks he read somewhere- depending on the type of brake pads on honda's, they can squeak from the material (thinks he read ceramic).

Anyone know if this may be the cause of the brake noise?

What different types are available, what would you recommend if it is the cause? First time Honda owner, so this is a first for me.

how about you do a 60mph to 25mph hard breaking a few times to see if that cleans the surface? do that 3x and drive around for 15min or so to cool them down.

be sure not to do it on a busy street.. lol

 

I noticed it on my brand new Fit, it appears to be the brake pads. I am taking it in to talk to the service manager at the dealer.
