Head unit removed and replaced with iPad

Before anyone asks for pics, I don't have any yet and I'm sure most will not really care for how it is installed. Not completely finished with it yet, using a mount from Joy Factory that connects inside the dash and using their new magnetic holder. From there, sounds are going to a RF 3Sixty.3, the iPad will push audio through BT and I also have an iPod touch running into the auxillary input. The 3Sixty.3 is also installed in the dash where the headunit was. It runs sound to a Kenwood Excelon XR-4S running in 3 channel mode for fronts and sub.

Tomorrow I will go to a DIY store to pick up some aluminum to fabricate a cover for the opening that is mostly unseen since the iPad resides there. Still want to cover it up better than what it looks like now though.

Also need to begin tuning the 3Sixty, just played with the EQ quickly. It's nice that the wired remote can control the overall volume level of the system. Mounted the remote next to my ETC which sits right under the opening for a headunit.

Hoping this works out well, it is all replacing a Kenwood Excelon DNX-9990HD. Just purchased this unit back on June 4th and thinking of putting it up for sale, just not sure yet. If someone is interested, PM a price, but please don't lowball. Unit was purchased through Crutchfield for $1400 and it has a factory warranty and is registered with Kenwood.

I am guessing this is going to be awesome!

If the mini is the right size, it might fit in a double DIN sized faceplate like the metra or scoche kit... that's my plan

A quite simple install of it and easily removable.

Really cool

I like it that you can feel safe enough to do that there. If I did that here i'm 90% certain that i'd return to a broken window and missing iPad shortly after the install

Well it definitely won't be residing full-time in the vehicle. Still some shady types here, though definitely not as plentiful as back home.

Thanks guys.
