Bought a white 2013 base model last week and the entire family loves it -- if I want to drive it, I have to race my wife to the garage in the morning. (We still like our 1996 Accord Wagon EX, but that is a story for the Accord Wagon Club forums, and Honda has learned a few things in the last 17 years .)

I am looking to install dash tweeters in the new Fit base without any other audio changes. I pulled the covers and saw that there are no wires underneath. Has anyone done this install? If so, how much of a hassle was it? At this point, I will settle for OEM speakers from the sport model; if anyone has any left over from an upgrade, let me know.

Honda wired the tweeters inline with the speakers


+ wire >>> +speaker >>>

- wire >>> -speaker >>>


Wire them this way

+W>>+S then -S >> +T then -T >> -W

if you connect them like most do for subs and run both off the same + wire you will damage the stock radio like I said

EDIT it might be confusing to look at so let me word it


factory positive speaker wire goes to positive on speaker. then negative speaker goes to positive tweeter. then negative tweeter goes to negative speaker wire

 

Thanks 13fit, you are saying wire the tweeters in series with the front door speakers if I understand you correctly.

 

correct. this brings the impedance to 8 ohms which is still in spec with the factory radio.
