in the honda insight world, the egr passage is notorious for getting clogged. thx for the reminder, looks like ill be doing mine soon
i didnt notice a difference..the pics make it look more dirty than what it was. im sure all it can do is be better after being cleaned though. definitely worth checking and cleaning considering how easily its all accessed.
i was getting ready to pull the trigger and order a new driver side exterior c-pillar garnish, but decided to make one last attempt. i few junkyard calls later, the local U-Pull- U-Pay said they had a GE in stock but could not confirm any parts. they have a website and luckily it shows you a picture of a lot of the cars. there was one of the Fit, and it looked mostly complete. sweet!
C-Pillar
when i got there, it was a different story. but miraculously the car had exactly what i needed! i wish i would have known this car had the interior c-pillar garnish that i recently replaced, i would have saved a few bucks. but whats a few bucks when you make consistent trips to starbucks. the c-pillar is in good condition, just had a couple of sap spots on it. all clips intact. just needs a cleaning and some revitalizer.
Rear Trunk Floor
after looking the car over, and wondering who in the hell cuts 2 economy cars in half to make a complete one, i figured i was done. but wait....whats that upside down in the dirt?! the trunk floor that my car has been missing for a year now?...yes! i made a replacement out of wood and covered it with carpet, which although has been more sturdy than the OE one, id prefer to have the stock piece. especially since the stock piece has those little flappy things that cover the gap behind the rear seats when u put them down, even though i never put my seats down. it looked like hell, and i wasnt pretty sure it wouldnt clean up. i thought it was made out of wood, but it seems to be full plastic. i almost left it, but decided to take it up front and see what i could get it for. fortunately the price was right on check out. i took it to the carwash and covered both sides with a concentrated solution of Dawn Platinum dishsoap (awesome stuff, been using this for a few years now...gets my cosign), let it soak a few minutes and gently scrubbed it with a brush. (do this to your floor mats once a year, and thank me later) hung it up on the wall and sprayed it with rinse water. took it home, let it dry, and used a lint roller for the dog hair. the carpet got a little fuzzy from the brush scrubbing, as i knew it would, but overall came out waaaayy better than i thought. it does have a slight warp on one corner, which causes it to set about 1/4 inch above the lip its suppose to rest on, hopefully it doesnt make noise while driving.
Intake Chamber
and finally, got a decent deal on this intake chamber. i have been thinking about painting my original one for a while now, but with all those ribs n edges, i didnt want to be trying to strip the paint off it if things didnt work out. had the lower intake manifold been a better price i would have got that too. minimal investment in this idea for now. but....there might be some replica spoon action going on in my engine bay. at the end of the day im glad to have the last of the trim pieces i was missing/damaged back on the car.
Can't wait to see what you do with that intake! I want the yellow Spoon one but can't justify the price for basically a paint job. I'm considering buying one like you and painting it myself. How are you liking the mirrors? It took some getting used to but I love mine!!

im on the fence with the intake. it would be just for looks and i dont go in my engine bay more than to checkfluid levels...much less display it. if i follow through and paint it im thinking of doing it wrinkle red or maybe even jdm ish gold/bronze.
i prefer convex mirrors in general...so with these lookin cool AND being convexed..the theyre growing on me. i cant decide if to paint them red or carbon wrap them. both ideas sound like a pita...lol.
did u cut your oe mirrors wires? i cut mine as i didnt think i could open the oe base to without marring the hell out of it. i dont like cutting wires, but if the oe mirrors go back on theyll get soldered properly.

Winkle red would be cool; Classic Honda. I don't do much with mine either but dressing it up a little wouldn't be bad since there's no real engine mods minus expensive air intakes or the supercharger.
Oh no bro! All I did was pop off the door panel and unplug the mirrors!! I did end up cutting the wires for the horn button on the steering wheel though cause I was having trouble depinning it.
i just went out n pulled one of the bases off...i didnt realize the back was a removable plug with screws under it when installing them. clear as day now....idk wth i was thinking. obviously i wasnt thinking logically as to how they got the metal base inside the plastic. duuuuuhhhh! i suppose i can solder the wires back together now lol.
i tried the other flatter version available for our cars first, but it got into a fight with a curb and lost. figured id give this one a try. hows yours holding up? this one seems to have a bit more clearance head on directly in the front, but is lower by the wheel wells. i like on both versions of the lip they put that little rib on the very bottom to scrape through first.
not sure how far ill take this in terms of detail or color..just a rough sketch for now. havnt decided if to aim for outlined print w different colored shirts, or do different colored Fits.
No one really used them, but it seems more than ever people have a wild need to be recognized as a part of something
I can attest what Mike says is 100% true
during the height of the "stance" and "hella flush" era, I was in charge of selling stickers for the Wrong Fitment Crew forum, and those things sold like drugs. everyone wants to be apart of a crew!
