Adding a rear Sport anti-roll to Base?

Howdy all -

I'm buying a base fit because I'm cheap. Down the road in a few years after I pay it off, I'm thinking about adding the anti-roll bar which the sport has.

Is that difficult? I'm imagining a quick trip to Honda's part counter, a couple of jack stands, and a ratchet.

How intense of a job is it?

not easy to add the stock RSB (its part of the rear torsion bar). easier to add aftermarket RSB.

What Goobers said. Its welded in at the factory. Progress rear A/R is the way to go.

At the time I looked at the difference in price and what you got for the money and went with the Sport. If you are getting a loan what would the difference per month be?

The progress rear sway bar is the one to get. 150$ with free shipping from clubrsx.com takes less than an hour to get on without taking the tires off (just jack the right side up slightly) I put it on my base a week after I bought it and felt a difference right away. I was reminded how great it was the other day when I drove another base without one and the car was leaning all over the turns and just felt sloppy. With the bar it feels like a honda or acura, without it feels like a old corolla or camry.

Great topic. I previously had a Progress Rear Swaybar on my Lancer Ralliart '06 and enjoyed it in every way. The stock one was 13mm while the Progress was 19mm. I can't imagine how good it would be to fit a 19mm swaybar on a base FIT, where there is none.

I think I'll probably make the jump in few months. The base FIT feels a bit like a balloon sometimes. Upgrading the swaybar on my Ralliart was the best suspension mod I did.

Progress bar all the way. Take it for a spirited drive before and then after. As soon as you hit your first turn after it's on you'll notice a huge difference. I recommend you check the bolts every so often the first few trips you take just to make sure they don't loosen up on ya.

What are the steps to install the swaybar on a base ? Is it only to bolt everything ? Looking at the Progress website pictures, it seems to be only 6 bolts and that's about it. Since the base does not have any OEM swaybar, is there anything else to do other than bolting the new swaybar ? If so, it seems to be a very easy install...

Thank you feared. I came across the DIY for the Progress right before you answer my post. It seems very easy to do
