Thanks very much for clearing this up for me. I think I'm going to keep a look out for some 16-17's with +42,+44 offsets. Thanks again

So does that mean 17x7, +45 with 205/45-17 will rub, if the car is lowered? even with camber?

I believe you may experience slight if any at all when you have a packed car due to having a drop even with camber. I have yet had a full car on my setup but no rub for me thus far. Even when I hit potholes on accident..no rubbing. I'm on eibach prokit with cambers. The fact you went with +45 was the key issue. So you should be fine.

I've been checking these threads out a lot, but I wanted to double check if Buddy clubs will work. I'm looking at the P1's, 15x6.5 w/42 offset and 205/50/15's (maybe 55's) which are 23.1" , but I want to lower it a little bit probably the Tanabe NF's. Think that combo will work, and look good? Thanks ya'll

I guess what I was wonder is how the 6.5" rim affects offset/fitting in wheel well, does it pull it in further than say a 7" which I'm sure it does, but I'm still figuring this stuff out.

So far, so good. No rubbing. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

I am just waiting to order these wheels ( Primax 925 - Chomium Wheels - Wheel Size & Price Details - 1010tires.com ) But i want to make sure they will fit without much rubbing. I have a 2010 fit sport that's completely stock as of right now. I was planning to put 215/35/18's on them. I have seen pictures of the same size and offset fitting but I just wanted to confirm with someone who has them on. Is there any rubbing present?

Or, would I be better off with 17x7 and not have to worry about it? I liked the look of 18's better though, so if possible i would prefer to go that route. I do plan on lowering the car but only about a inch, probably with a eibach kit.

Just bought some rims that are 17x7.5 +40 no tires yet. Thinking of putting 205/40/17 tires though. My question is will I rub on stock height??? On another thread, Jim at Tirerack said to take my fenders off (though he didn't specify if he was replying to my question). Is that even feasible, to take my fenders off?

I do plan on getting coils sometime during the summer so can't I just roll the fenders or add something to make the rims fit??

Jim said kindly that you will rub, stock or dropped. Unfortunately 17x7.5/40 means you'll be stuck wih 195/40x17 tires if you want to have the best chance of not rubbing. And when you lower the risk is greater.
It may not rub with 45 mm offset but don't expect its concrete advice..

Isn't there anything I can do to add offset from 40 to 45? Is it possible to take off the fenders like Jim said?

no not really you can get the wheel machined on the in side hub but that will cost alot and weaken the wheel. maybe trade them in on a new set.

you said there not mounted yet. return them for 45mm offset or a different wheel with 45mm offset

Increasing offset means making the hub thinner by 5 mm on 40mm wheels, DEFINITELY A DISASTER IN THE WORKS that has a good chance of killing you!

Sure you can take the fenders off but you risk a ticket like all those old baja bugs or damage from irate drivers around you.

I'm wanting to go with Enkei rpf1 15x7 with 41 mm offset. Would a 195/55/16 cause issues with rubbing?

I'll be at stock height but eventually want a mild drop (~1").

Thanks in advance...
