What 205s won't hurt my mileage?

I don't know if it is possible but are there any 205 width tires available that won't hurt the mileage on my 09 sport?

I have stock 16s right now.

Thanks

any reason on the change? just wanna go wider?

anything other than stock will throw off your speedo not really sure if it will hurt your MPG's though. im sure if you have a light foot then you should be ok

When you choose a tire look for a low rolling resistance, light weight, and harder compound. That will help offset the loss from the wider tire.
If you are looking for a summer tire, the General Exclaim UHP looks like a pretty good choice.
Also, inflate to max sidewall pressure (or at least higher than placard). It is a hot topic, but people who have actually done testing know that hydroplaning is reduced, cornering stability is increased, tread life is increased, and of course mpg is increased.

All good suggestions except the recommendation for General Exclaim UHPs. I've run these recently on my '93 Civic EX coupe in 205/50/15 on lightweight wheels & they just had too much sidewall flex for an enthusiast like myself.

Overall they're a good value & have good treadwear, but I'd choose Falken Ziex 912's, practically any Yokohama & most BFG's for a few more $$$ over the Generals just because of their softer sidewalls.. it had a noticeable effect on initial steering/handling response; crisp steering is one of the Fit's best attributes & Exclaim UHP's don't highlight it as well as other tires in their price range.

Good to know.
I just meant it was good based on the specs.

Wider tires shouldn't throw off the speedo... As long as you keep the same outer diameter it should be fine.

I was trying to smooth out the ride and hopefully improve the handling. I thought maybe the goodyear fuel max would be an option but I can't really get an reviews on handling.

When speedometer reads 60mph (96.6km/h) actual speed will be 59.2mph (95.3km/h): 1.3% slower.

if u want to gain mileage get 15 in. wheels. if you want it to stay the same, dont change your wheels.

He could get lighter than stock 16s, or even 17s and still gain mpg. No need to compromise looks/handling by going with 15s unless absolute max mpg gain is the goal.
