2015 Fit Gk5 with 10th gen Civic L15b7 swap

Hey guys

Wanted to start a new group for the swap we are doing in our Gk5. We hydrolocked the motor in the Fit and decided we needed to be the first to do this along with Hasport. Since this motor is going to be very available at junk yards to do the swap it will be much better than the K24z7 and smog legal witht he years of the motors coming out " depending on your State and smog laws"

We sourced the L15B7 from a 2017 EXT with 20,000 miles on it and came with longblock, turbo, 6 speed trans and ECU

I will be updating off and on and the swap should be done within the next month or so.

We will not be stock on this motor and will have some nice bolt ons with E40 making around 280whp and over 300tq

Curious how you hydrolocked the engine?

HPS Cold air and some crazy rain in Arizona, also had no fender liners in so it was a fully exposed intake

Bless us Axion! Hope a swap kit becomes available by Summer time. Looking to drop some serious $$$ on a swap barring compliance to California BAR.

I had that happen with my old celica with a iceman intake. Torrential rains and Mom called that she needed to go to the hospital. Came upon a heavily flooded road and normally probably wouldn't have attempted, but my Mom needed me. It hydrolocked, but a shop was able to get it up an running. I actually drove that car for another 2-3 years before trading it in.

this is very exciting. I have owned my GK5 for 3 years and have been waiting for the market to open up for more options of mods. This is one i am very interested in. I watched the review on L15B7, its a bit different from our L15B. I hope its an easy mount and will the L15B 6M trans bolt up to it.

You need the engine and trans from the Civic to make it work, nothing from the engine on the Fit will work

got it, so 100% swap. still the best way to boost the GK5 I imagine and still cheaper than a K20a2 swap I've been pondering.

Surprised the transmission housing isn't the same, but it's probably better this way. There aren't exactly a lot of limited slip options for the Fit, and I wouldn't want that much power in a FWD car without one.

Said it'd be about a month, is this swap near completion?

I do still wonder which is more cost effective, this swap for a K20A2 swap? K20A2 makes more power right off the bat.

What's the weight difference between the two, I assume the additional equipment for the turbo set up adds a little bit.

New motor I'm sure will add some weight, the trans is actually much larger than the Fit trans

I know you said the transmission from the Fit isn't a direct swap, but what would be the issues with using an adapter plate? This isn't an issue for you guys since you already have the transmission, but for others considering the swap it might or might not save money, depending on the details.

Things like the clutch/flywheel size, if they're substantially different then maybe you need the turbo transmission just to get a strong enough clutch to hold the power. Can't think of another example at the moment, but maybe you can fill in the blanks in my question?

Nobody will be offering anything like this and I doubt the fit trans would even hold half the tq the L15b7 can offer. It will be a full swap that we will be offering to customers as that will be the easiest and best cost effective swap
