its so they can "upgrade" the next year model, or the year after.
Ooo the 2016 comes with a cargo cover!
Same thing with the LED headlights eventually, usable armrests, etc.
Probably gas mileage too. I can see marketing saying "All new 2016 Fit gets better gas mileage! Optimizations to the blah blah blah gets you the same MPG as the LX!"
