Does automatic door lock "walk-away" feature exist on 2016?

Other than manually pressing a small black button on the door handle, or using your key fob, I'm wondering whether there is an automatic door locking feature that is the opposite of the auto unlock feature. Do 2016s not have this auto-locking feature?

I wish. If someone here knows the answer for sure, that would be awesome, but the dealer sent me instructions that only work on the newer models, and when I asked about my 2016 ex, they responded there was no way to enable it that they knew of. Oh well 🤷🏻*♂️

I’d say no. I can park my 2015 in the garage and walk away and it stays unlocked until I lock it. The doors will “re-lock” automatically if you unlock the doors but don’t open the door. That’s it, however.

Id hate to have the car lock itself every time I walk away, personally.

I think this issue has been discussed in other threads. I've been interested because I have a 2016 and would like the feature. The ultimate conclusion is No, it seems it is not a feature of the 2016's.
If I'm wrong, I'd like specifics....because it is a feature I wish the vehicle had.

I had a vehicle with a self locking, self arming alarm system.
It was great IMO.
The way it worked, once I turned off the vehicle, then opened and closed the drivers door to exit, the timer would start. In about 15-30 seconds it would arm itself IF you didn't arm it yourself before that time.

The reason I liked it...is my own paranoia. I don't know how many times I get into a movie theater, or restaurant, shopping mall or other event, then wonder if I remembered to lock the vehicle and arm the alarm. I've have left events, just to check and make sure my vehicle is locked. Not fun.
The self arming was great, because I could always relax knowing the vehicle was secure.
If I remember right, it had a Valet mode that allowed you do turn it off if you wanted. But I never did.

Ya, so the research I had done a couple or so weeks ago left me not very sure either way. But after viewing some videos and webpages that explained how to program whatever make/model Honda that is capable of that feature, then attempting to program my 2016 Fit, I came to the same conclusion you all have: it's just not an included feature.

So the best option is pushing that little black button on the door handle(s), which still beats having to dig my keys out of my purse each time. But as @fitchet explains, it would be super valuable to have the auto/walkaway locking feature, especially because I recently moved to a very urban area of San Diego where there are continuous reports of thieves regularly checking cars for unlocked doors.

Even if the walk-away lock feature is available, I would always be concerned whether the feature worked or not. For my assurance, when I click the "lock" button on my fob I would listen to the doors "click". Then, I am somewhat assured that the doors are lock. Now, how easy can that be?

@wasserball It's my understanding that the walk-away auto door locking feature beeps when it does lock, so you wouldn't have to wonder whether it did or not.

That is correct.

One beep - out of car with key
Second beep - doors locked

I would love this feature in my 2016. But I haven't seen a way to enable it.

You can't enable something that simply isn't there.

Thanks for letting me know. Clicking the key fob to lock the doors has been reliable for a long time. I'm comfortable with that feature to lock the doors.

Cool, everyone else is probably fine with that too. This is a nice feature for people that leave their key in their purse or their backpack. No need to dig it out and hit the lock button.
