I am glad I got rid of my fit(s). 2015 6MT - injectors at 16k miles, crazy VTC daily rattles, burning oil past 80k miles & 2016 CVT with a busted cat at only 38k miles and not covered by warranty. Sorry to say this ... but Honda is becoming the new Kia/Hyundai. Actually, I think Kia/Hyundai have made some serious progress over the past decade or so.The new crv's got the gas in engine oil issue and the list goes on with honda. Again ... sorry, but no more honda for me. Ever since they opened that Mexican plant where they also assemble the HRV nothing but issues for the Fit lineup. Not sure how well the HRV counterpart is holding up.

I would looooove to get into the Toyota basecamp, but I am a cheap type of guy .... so I chickened out and went for an 18 Mitsu Mirage with the manual. Proven 3 cyl powerplant and out of all things ... port injection. But I still lurk around the freak forums ... so I can get a chuckle out of the injector replacement posts .... hahahah! P.S. You are doing a great detailed job with your troubleshooting your Lexus. I am guessing it is serving you better than Honda ... am I right?

there's an issue w 3rd gen prius motors.... egr cooler clogs, people can blow engines and/or head gaskets, people consume oil, list goes on

i was lucky, got away w head gaskets, on time to avoid the need to machine heads

i was once a Toyota fan boy = 88 pickup, 95 Tacoma, 92 sc400, 95 sc400, 96 sc400, 2003 gx 470.... all out toyota.... u til what happened in the thread happened. honda is def not perfect, but my experience w the last lexus/toyota put me over the edge

moral of story = they are not perfect, honda, toyota, nobody. ymmv of course. best of luck, w the new car.
