Smart Entry light issues...

I recently noticed my Smart Entry light was coming on. And I decided to try a fix from a youtube user. This one specifically; https://youtu.be/-AQ8ftZSHEk .

After cleaning the contacts and putting it back together, the green light on the button began blinking and beeping. And now I have to use the fob to push the button to get the car started. Where as before, the light was on, but it started normally. Also, the button on the exterior door handle no longer locks the car. And the sensor that "sees" when your hand is there to automatically unlock the car doesn't trigger either. I can still use the lock/unlock button on the fob. And at least for now I can start the car. I worried that it may not start one day, and I am supposed to start a new job next week, so I'm freaking out a little bit.

I did order a new switch from Amazon. A lot of the posts I'd read about the Smart Entry light issue, winded up being a faulty on/off switch that the dealership charged $500 to replace. As I am currently broke right now. I can't afford to take it to the dealership unless I absolutely must. And that will likely max out my credit card as well as leave me without a way to get to work...

Does anyone know if the new switch would need to be programmed or something? Or should it theoretically work? The one I ordered was this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088ZWMR4L/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_fabc_M-kbGb5YM7GMH

Also, I found a wire that I don't remember disconnecting, and had no idea what it plugs into. Anyone know what this is and if it could cause the fob to suddenly stop communicating?

That wire goes to the device that allows the car to sense the key fob. Find where it goes (behind the plastic panel with the USB and HDMI connectors on it. It's there. The system won't work until you plug this wire back in.
