Rear driver side wheel locked up
Rear driver side wheel locked up
Whats up guys. Just trying to get some input and to see if anyone else had this issue. Washed my '17 Fit last night, and this morning, when I tried to back the car up, I noticed the rear driver side wheel was not moving. Ebrake was disengaged all the way and the rear passenger side wheel has no movement issues.
Didnt have much time to try to do too much trouble shooting since I was pressed for time, but I did try engaging and disengaging the ebrake with no luck. I also tried to rock it free by putting the car in drive then reverse for a couple minutes with only light application to the throttle.
Just wanted to get some input on if its happened to any of you and what yall did to get it to get it going again before I start pulling it apart. TIA
forgot to mention it was about 55 degrees last night, so not cold enough to freeze anything. When I googled the issue seemed like most folks who had my issue all had their car sit overnight in rrally cold weather.

If it's happening only on one side, that means that there is an obstruction only on that side, otherwise both your rear wheels would be locked. It implies the obstruction is after the splitter to each rear wheel.
I'd get underneath the car and see if you can trace the parking brake cable route on the obstructed side by hand. That might tell you where and what the obstruction is.
Socal typically doesn't see freezing temps, so hard to believe you froze anything, but I suppose it's a remote possibility.

Since you mentioned you washed it, could the brake have rusted? Happened to my son's old car when it was being scrapped....it "ran" but the one (or both) rear wheels wouldn't turn....they dragged it with the tow truck for a few feet and it broke free....just a thought

Seemed like it was just rust like another member stated
Update: seemed to be rust the seized the brake. I hopped in the car and gave it the beans in reverse and drive and eventually it broke loose. Drove it around for a few miles to make sure there arent any weird behaviors or vibrations and she seems like she is fine. Thanks everyone who respondes. The Input was appreciated
Not at all. Just plain tap water to wash the car.
