Immobilizer kill switch?

With the increase in auto theft (due to low supply and increased crime) I'm considering adding a "kill switch" that'll render my FIT useless to a thief.
My car is already manual transmission - which should deter at least half those interested in stealing it.

I was considering adding something very covert....like depressing the rear demist button before attempting to start, or engaging the left turn signal...something weird, yet effective.
What say you fellow FitFreaks?

Generally not a fan of active immobilizer systems, as they don't always play nicely with CPUs, accessories and the like. I favor passive systems like The Club or a GPS tracking device located in a hidden area. Much less to go wrong with your car's electronic system.

I agree, which is why I've never installed one in any of my vehicles.
Over the last 30+ years, I've witnessed enough folks with dead batteries and other electrical related issues from running one of those systems.

Pardon my dumbness, but what about the OEM standard equipment immobilizer? Is that easily defeated by thieves?

And you have to remember to tell anyone else driving or parking your car.

An easy way is to put a swirch in series with one of the wires going to the clutch switch under the dash. With hidden
switch off car will not start even with the clutch depressed.

Here is one that only allows starting with parking lights on.
