Background: 2019 Sport. Auto trans. Key ignition. Original owner. Location hot Florida...batteries don't last long.
Car driven about once week or week half for 15-40 miles. Oem 151 battery won't start car for 3rd time since bought new in 2019. When battery gets below 11.7 volts, won't start.
Can cut oem battery tray to fit 51 battery but did some online research on what hondas use 51 size battery which is a lot. Decided on 2012-16 CRV since it was cheapest at $9 at local Honda dealership...online part over $20 with shipping. At LQK you pull it used parts it is $14.


New battery box part # 31521-T0A-A00 for 2012-16 CRV. Excuse the blurry pic and OE card which is blocking personal info.



New part on left...Oem on right.



Bottom of both battery boxes...new box on left with 2 nubs ...oem on right with 1 nub which fits into metal tray in engine bay. 2 nubs new tray don't fit oem metal tray but I left them uncut. Small piece 2-3 cm next to right side of new box I had to cut to fit oem holddown clamp.



Duracell 51 battery from Sam's fits but battery positive post to far forward and positive battery cable to short so ABORT.
However oem 51 battery from my 2019 CRV has positive battery post located to back of battery and FITS!!!

Please post any other group 51 batteries that fit or don't fit.

 

After about 6 years this November, 2016, won't hold charge, replaced OEM battery on 2017 LX CVT, 8/8/2022 108,859 miles $142.47 Battery EverStart Maxx Lead Acid 151R 370 CCA 3 yr replacement warranty bar code xxxxx from Walmart. Hands down, they installed it free.
