On a recent drive with my FIT, I noticed the VSA light has illuminated.
I tried shutting the car off and restarting, but it's still there
I read in the owners manual that it could be the "hill assist" that's not working.
Since I have a manual, I checked to see if the vehicle would roll back on an incline...sure enough, it did (feature stopped working).
My other car is a manual and since I've been driving stick shift since the late 1900's, I'm not too concerned.
Does anyone know what's causing this? or how to fix it?
Since the car is still under warranty I could take it to Honda for them to fix.
I'm hesitant to get them to work on it, as they've proven to be untrustworthy.
I don't technically need this feature, but I don't like random lights on my dash.

So today I went to check the fuses.
After contorting myself under the dash, I checked the first 7.5A fuse...fine.
Checked the second fuse under the other box lid...fine
The third one was a bit more involved to check, so since the two others were fine, I decided to skip it and proceed with getting the dealer to inspect.
While locking up the car, I decided to see if the dash light was still on so I proceeded to putting the key in the ignition and turned it to the second position...after the usual warning lights turned off, the VSA light also turned off- strange.
So I started it and it never came back on again.
Just to be sure it's working again, I decided to take it for a drive and sure enough the hill hold works fine again.
At least I can cancel the dealer appointment I'd booked!
I swear, this car must be possessed!

VSA seems like a common system that is connected to so many other systems. I had many lights show up last year, and the issue was a $0.50 plastic grommet.
You may need to take some time and dig deep. If the VSA light is the only one on, then that itself is a good indicator.

As a precaution, I think I'll inspect mine closely and purchase a couple of those grommets to keep on hand!
Yeah, the VSA light usually comes on due to something else. I almost never see it on by itself, usually it's on due to an ABS issue. It wouldn't surprise me if something like one of those grommets was the real culprit.
