Push button ignition glitch question

I apologize if this has been asked before. I don’t seem to be able to have much luck finding any answers with the search feature.

2015 Honda fit manual transmission push button ignition.

Occasionally, I will accidentally let out the clutch a little too quickly, while starting, when I have it in neutral and plan to let it idle a minute or two before going. This morning this happened.

Usually when this happens, I will cycle through to get it into the off position, push in the clutch and the break, press the button again, and it will start. This morning it would not work. All it would do is go to the office position and then when I press the start button with the clutch pressed and brake pressed, it would click twice in the panel like an electronic clicking, but nothing would happen.

I decided to try something, and walked away from the vehicle for five minutes, after putting it into the off configuration again, making sure I was out of range of the fob being recognized.

After returning, it started properly.

This makes me wonder if something is going bad, if I need to be on the lookout for a specific issue or if I need to replace something.

My first thought gravitates towards whatever safe switch is on the clutch. But cars are far more complicated than tractors and mowers safety switches.

Does anybody have experience with this and words of wisdom to impart? Thank you.

Edit:

I should also add, that the push button was replaced about 18 months ago when I had them replace the timing chain assembly because of the weird rattling on starting.

2015 EX Stick.

I have a 2015 EX stick push button start.

I'm not sure why you press your brake pedal when starting your car.

I just press the clutch pedal in and push the start button. And my car starts.

Just start your car the way I do.

You shouldn't have any starting issues.

Unless you need a new starter.
I had my starter replaced about a year ago.

I have a 2015 MT too, and the previous owner replaced the starter at only 43,000 miles and I gather it is a problem area.
