How long to change the air filter for 2016 Fit?
Depends on how much dust there is in the air where you are. I clean my filter with a vacuum every year, and then replace it every second or third year depending on how dirty it looks (the vacuum doesn't get everything out). Lot of forest fires last few years so I probably replace it more often than I would have in the past.
As for the MAF I cleaned mine on my 2018 for the first time last summer. Probably didn't need to because it looked absolutely clean as it was. But now I've got this partly filled can of CRC MAF cleaner lying around I'll probably do it every 3 years (every 5 years if I didn't have the can).

Nothing against OEM filters. You need to be mindful and check it more often and it is a recurring cost. I in fact have a 07 Accord V6 with 335000 miles on it using K&N filter all its life. My old 98 Accord V6 had 200K miles on K&N filter. This 2016 Honda Fit I have 100K miles on K&N filter. Make that over 600K miles total on 3 Hondas. The more important thing to do is to change oil, NOT following the maintenance's schedule but every 5000 miles instead to avoid clogging the rings, I mentioned this in another discussion.
K&N Air Filters.
I have a K&N Air Filter in my 2015 Fit EX and my 2007 Honda Ruckus.
No problems.
My Fit and Ruckus have better throttle response.

I don't usually participate in "fanboy threads", but this is important.
1)The reusable air filter is false economy. The dirt they allow in is easily detected when oil analyses are done.
While your history of "over a million trouble-free miles over 7 Hondas" sounds triumphant, rest assured the oil in all of them was dirtier than that of a fleet using OE style filters.
2) The allure of "increased power" is a practical lie. Only when engines scream at WOT has any such improvement been measured....and it's never much.
3) Sometimes the "cold air intake" angle is touted. So many cars today have colder air routed into the air cleaner, it isn't funny.
Aftermarket add-ons are most often ineffective.
Nobody wants to admit that they fell for a "high school boy toy".
4) Claims of better throttle response are often due to sound changes in the intake.
Also remember, after changing one's oil, improved throttle response is a common observation.
5) When people want to believe in something, they cease listening.
My favorite was a pal who bought a neighbor's, ticking Subaru.
I told him that era engine (the 2.5l) was prone to ticking and best avoided.
Still, he was bustin' to fill the crankcase with transmission fluid and listen to the engine heal itself whilst idling.
He bought the car and listened to it tick for over three years......still, he knew.

@Kira You're funny. I hope you stick around.
Not to flog a deceased equine, but oil-able, reusable air filters make me nervous. Why introduce new variables (too much oil? too restricted air flow?)? I understand the desire to save money, but I'll pay for 1) getting the factory spec and 2) the convenience.

Not young. I've been using K&N filters since my 1998 Accord V6 more than 27 years ago. I am 50 this year, I started modding since I was 21. On the driveaccord.net forum, there is a 1.2 million mile Accord V6 with K&N style cone filter. So I don't need to say more. Case closed.
It is a choice. You've made yours and I've made mine, it's a free country.
Discussions of this type is like folks arguing about oil filter to use and oil change intervals. Let's start and see who is using Fram oil filter and get scolded.
