Any CVT replacement success stories out there?
I just gave my 2015 with 115k miles to my sister. Well... it turns out she's cursed because any vehicle she touches will immediately fail. I thought the Fit would survive that though with the legendary Honda durability! But no, the CVT cratered as soon as she made it home. I took good care of it so don't blame me.
Anyways we're looking to see if we can get the CVT replaced instead of junking the whole thing. Has that actually worked for anyone? Any official parts from Honda or a reseller are all $5k+. Fits in good condition at a pick-n-pull are a rarity these days. But even then a used transmission is like flipping a coin....
Who here has actually replaced the CVT in their Fit? Where did you get it from? Was it new or used? Was the installation successful or did the car never behave the same again?
