Hello I am having some issues with my ac blowing cool but not cold air. In my cabin the outside air temperature reads -- or sometimes -40. I looked at the ambient air temperature sensor in the front bumper and the sensor isn't connected to any wires. I cant seem to find any loose wires that it can hook up to. Does anyone know where these wires are or have a diagram showing where they are? This car is new to me so I dont have any history of the vehicle. Also i found an orange connector not connected to anything on the passenger side. Anyone have any idea as to what it is?
If you turn the knob to full cold with a/c button pressed, it should still get cold despite the outside temp sensor reading. So I think you need to get your a/c checked out.
If you look down where your radiator cap is, you can see the temp sensor and see if it's plugged in with a wire coming from it.
I don't know what car you have, but I have a 2015 LX. I just checked mine out and it has the same clip or connector/plug (whatever it is) that's not hooked up to anything. Just a guess, but if it is an electrical plug, maybe it's for a smaller harness to hook up to fog light housing? But I don't even know if you have an LX as well. Mine was covered in, what felt like, old black grease and I had to rub some off to see it was orange.
