Curious: What VIN Did You Purchase?
The VIN I was originally going to buy was 702004 but the two that the dealer received of the same model are in the 3000 range. I'm curious if those lower VIN numbers are actually for sale or had to be redone due to delays. What are the last 6 digits of the VIN that you actually purchased? The one I am buying tomorrow will be either 703896 or 703994. I wonder what the lowest VIN recently sold is.

That is a really interesting question. I wonder if some cars with lower VINs may have been pulled from distribution and sent back to the factory, or held at a distribution center, for some type of repair or retrofit?
So the other question, for those who were given a VIN prior to delivery, did your VIN change from what you were promised?

Didnt you order a yellow Christina? Seems odd the number would be that low since Yellow isnt due to be built till late summer. :-/

I wonder if I got one that was already built for auto shows and such? I really don't know.
It's been moved up though, should be here in 1 to 2 weeks. I'll most likely have one of the first yellows on the road and one of the first Fits in the northeast.

VINs of less than 300 or so, were preproduction cars. That is, those were built while the factory workers were learning their jobs and getting the factory ready for full production line operation. In some ways these cars were probably given special attention and may be better than regular production line cars. Most of these preproduction cars are the ones that the press uses in tests and that are used to train dealers in service.

I just bought mine two days ago. It is an EX in Alabaster Silver. I really wanted blue and they searched and searched for me. I was told that they aren't even producing the blue and purple yet. VIN is 701401.

Went over mine thoroughly this morning and I have to say nothing jumped out at me from a build quality standpoint. In fact I'm pretty impressed. However, I did notice a few tiny(smaller than a pinhead) spots on the top of the bottom bracket/hinge of the front driver door that appeared to me to be surface rust. Cleaned the spots and can feel a tiny imperfection in the paint that could have caused it. Needless to say I will be keeping a very close eye on this. If it comes back it will be confirmed

They lied. Other members here have the blue. Sorry, next time don't believe dealers

Get back... he tries to get us excited to buy it. I tell him we're interested in a gray EX. That we're set on it, and that's what we're going to be buying. He kept trying to get us to consider the black EX, but I told him we wanted gray.
While we were sitting inside after talking about some things, he tells us that they somehow found a gray EX.
Ultimately, that's the car we have.
I wouldn't tell the salesman to his face, or the dealer, because I'm pretty much a nice guy even in shitty situations, but I could see through their tactics a mile away.
