I crafted an armrest extension cushion!!! check it out!

I made a second attempt and it's a little better. Keep in mind, I don't have a sewing machine. I have had to do all this with glue and staples. I was able to round the corners some. but there are still "folds" of material. Even though this is a better quality vinyl, there's still not enough stretch to remove the folds completely.
Where the last one had netting that was snug, this one I over compensated and it was a bit loose, but when I tied it togther inside, it secured it much better!

The USDM Fits aren't the same as EUDM Jazz for the center console.
That armrest is designed with the sloped backend of the EUDM Jazz (do they even have a cushioned cover as stock?), but the USDM Fits are horizontally flat.
So, unless you want to hack it in, you'll also have to order the EUDM center console itself to match up.
Your best bet is to wait for Honda to official release one for the USDM market... it'll most likely incorporate something to deal with the area the original armrest covers.

Don't think you'll want to order that...

HI Kelly,
I'm yet a new Fit owner with this "armrest too low" dilemma. As of Jan 2015, I still haven't found an aftermarket replacement.
I'd be interested in fabricating one like you did. I think it's fabulous!
Would you share with us how you made it? For instance, what did you use for the base? how did you secure the "net" and how did you secure it, etc???
Cheers!

This looks like a fine piece of crafting Kelly Stewart, I will definitely keep my eye out for product development, availability and price info.
