Trouble locating an EX-L. Your experience?
I've offered to do that with one dealer who declined. After reading the forum about problems with some of the '15 Fits, I'll be sure to check out details of paint and fit carefully. Out here on the West Coast, one can find black and red much more readily than the other colors.
While there are no delivery dates that are firm, my dealerships does have a list of what we are getting for sure. We do give customers the option to reserve a car or special order.
Hi everyone. First post!
I've been on the prowl for an EX-L (in silver or grey) and the dealers in my area seem to rarely have those in stock. Lots of LX and EX models, though!
The dealers in my area are doing different things with customers waiting on the EX-L: wait list, first come first serve, and "special order".
I'm suspicious of the special order option, as I was told it would arrive in 1-2 days. If that's possible, wouldn't everyone do that to ensure they get the color and trim they're after?
What was the timeline you experienced in securing your 2015 Fit?

I had to wait 6 weeks for my 2015 EX-L w/navi. I originally wanted the dark grey metallic but would have had to wait even longer. My dealer traded a yellow EX for my black EX-L navi with a dealer about 8 hours north of us.
Ultimately very happy with my choice to get the black Fit. Just had the windows tinted dark as legal here in FL and it looks amazing! Love the car.

I'm just about to pick up my LX Manual this Saturday that I've been waiting for since the end of October.
The dealer I'm buying it from only gets one manual transmission Fit every other week.
I was first promised a black LX, but if I want that colour I have to wait another 2-3 weeks, whereas if I settle for the Grey then I can get it sooner.
So grey it is.
Best of luck to everyone waiting for their Fit's. It'll be worth it.

Supply seems to have gotten considerably better in recent months. The second shift at Celaya seems to be bearing fruit, but of course much of it might be gearing up for the HRV.
A 200-mile radius search for Fits on Cars.com used to turn up less than a hundred cars, but now the number is over 500. My local dealer is actually showing several cars in the configuration I want (white LX CVT).
Of course, dealers want to keep the "feeding frenzy" and subsequent high prices going as long as possible, but the fact is that Fits aren't nearly as hard to come by as they used to be.
I am somewhat bemused by people buying new cars who compromise the configuration they want just to get a car a couple of weeks sooner. You're going to live with the car for a long time, what's a couple of weeks?

Bought mine last month in the Tampa Bay Area (FL) and there was an ton of them in every color and every trim level. I had 25+ FITs to choose from across 8 dealerships in this area, though I can't say for sure how many were being counted as in transit stock. I can only confirm the 3 dealerships I put into a bidding war for my EX had every car on the lot that was listed on their respective site.

As I'm sure you know because you have been following the current condition of Texas's rail lines (I mean, who wouldn't be?!) they are essentially booked solid with pretty lengthy wait times to get space. This is primarily due to the oil and gas fields here buying up all the train space, which won't stop until the pipelines they are working on in state get built out over the next few years.
It will probably take a bit of time for the logistics systems to ramp up (we're probably seeing that start to bear fruit now but it has a long way to go) and get a good mix of Fits to every dealer. Oddly enough my local dealers have a good number of Fits in stock, but nearly all are manual transmissions. Howdy Honda in Austin has over 20 of them listed as on the lot now, and if you want a CVT you have to wait (they are all listed in transit).
Also per this thread and confirmed via my conversations with dealers while trying to track one down to reserve in Dec, many of the parts for the Fit and all Fits enter the US travel via rail through the border crossing at Laredo TX.
