LX Manual Performance/Tuning

Hey everyone, I'm new around here and have a 2015 Fit LX Manual on order right now. I'm curious if anyone has tried some 0-60 runs with their cars. I know it's not going to be fast, but I'm hoping that if I push the little engine I can still get some fun out of it.

I test drove one but was hesitant to really push it since I haven't driven manual in a while so I figured I would see what you guys are noticing while driving.

I have a few questions so I will just put the up here.

1) Does the V-TEC show in driving the car? I used to have a Honda Odyssey with and you could feel that V-TEC jump in upper revs, not sure if its the same way with the pint sized power plant.

2) What sort of MPG's can you squeeze out with the 6 speed? Will 40 MPG be possible?

3) Does anyone have a good guess as to what will be the best upgrades as time goes on? Maybe one of the tuners can chime in on this.

The fit is the farthest from performance cars I have ever gone so I'm just trying to figure out what I can do to liven it up a bit. Thanks for any thoughts!

I've only driven about 130 miles so far, but I think it is a plenty fun car. My other vehicle is a 2013 Mustang GT 6-spd, so if I can go from a 420hp car to this and say its fun, that may count for something. From what I've read, the 0-60 should be somewhere in the low 8 sec range, and I'd say that feels about right. What I find more telling, though, is how it acceperates when you are already rolling. It digs out of corners much stronger than the hp number would have you believe.

No, I don't detect any discernible change-over through the rev range.

i would be scared to launch the car and make quick shifts. the clutch is made of warm butter, and it has a delay valve which further ruins the fun.

but, i am a little gun shy as my car came with a defective clutch and broke nearly immediately after picking up the car.

I noticed that about the clutch, it felt very soft. Although it could be because I recently tested a Fiat 500 Abarth and the clutch pedal was basically an "on/off" switch.

I have a deposit down on my Fit that should be here around October 10th so I have until then to think this out. If I can convince my wallet to spare some extra money I may end up with a Civic Si. Slightly less cargo room but it has a fantastic engine...hmm...choices.

I find it much more fun and it has significantly more power at higher speeds than my 2010 Fit had. Nothing wrong with the Si, but it still isn't what one would call a performance car. No slouch, but many other ones have better performance.

Well, hell, if you can spring for an Si, then just get a GTI and have performance AND utility.

Anyway, I wanted to ask about this delay valve. Has this been confirmed? I have had a couple of cars with a delay valve (that I then removed) and, so far, my Fit does not demonstrate the characteristics of having one. The clutch has done everything I've asked of it, as quickly as my foot has demanded.
