Thumbs down Condensation Inside Reverse Camera Lens

Hi all,

It rained alot this past week in NJ, and i noticed my reverse camera was getting difficult to see out of. Today was dry and sunny, and i noticed a lot of condensation built up inside of the lens of the reverse camera. Anyone else having the same issue?

Will Honda replace this for me under warranty?

Thanks

Have you tried just wiping off the exterior of the camera lens? I have seen where it gets dirty, and wiping it off clears the camera.

I haven't had this problem, and I'm in Florida where it rains constantly... It sounds like a warranty fix, but who knows. The dealer will say it's "normal."

Not on the inside - it's condensation built up on the inside

I'm going to tell them about it when I make my appointment to get my crash bar replaced

Take pictures to document the problem. Otherwise they will decide that you are imagining it!

Condensation is pretty bad on this car in humid climates. My side view mirrors require a wipe off every morning as the condensation will stay stuck to the mirror even after driving for a few miles. First car I've had where the wind won't "air dry" them for me.

Good idea, I will take pics tonight. I purposely parked in the sun yesterday and a lot of the condensation dried, but it left water spots on the inside

Wow, condensation on the inside of a camera lens is never a good thing. I was thinking you meant on the outside (which we do get). Thankfully, a dry towel fixes our problem.

Yup, take a close up picture of the camera, and the screen to show proof. Make sure you clean both so they don't say the lens is just dirty.

CRV Rear Camera Foggy...

We have gotten 4 seasons of wet weather in 36 hours here in Upstate NY. Dirt and grime have gotten inside the lens. No one appears to be addressing this problem. I assume one has to remove the camera and replace it as it cannot be disassembled to be cleaned. Where can I get a step by step pictorial so I don't destroy my back hatch with a screwdriver?
