Backup Camera Surprise

Backup Camera Surprise
It took eighteen months to get my faulty lane watch system repaired under warranty, and with the warranty new expired, I was afraid I had a problem with the backup camera.
Driving last night, I switched on the high beams, and the LaneWatch camera lit up for a couple of seconds. The same thing happened when I was driving home. Doing a little experimenting, I discovered that, since I was wearing gloves, I gave the light stalk a very slight lift upwards, and that activated the camera. Driving bare-handed is definitely better.

Are you sure it was the backup camera that was coming on? I suspect what was happening was you were activating the right-side blindspot camera that is activated when you put your right turn signal on. May be a little sensitive.

Thanks for that. Yes, it was the side view camera, of course.

Right - more or less. As I pushed on the high beam lever, it moved up a bit and turned on the LaneWatch camera for a second.

You've seen that movie, too, huh? : )
