production problems

I'm sure this has been talked about in other threads... I don't frequent the site too often
Anyways I was trying to secure a blue navi in canada and they have apparently 11 coming or so and talked to my dealer about getting one... well there were a couple left from it but he said there is no word on the actual vehicles coming from mexico

He says apparently there are local problems down there, corruption/stealing and such

I have opted to keep my 2012 till the 2016 is produced which is supposed to be coming out in april/may.

I had though about waiting for the HRV but I fear many problems being a brand new vehicle and the shady production level down there

Just a rant thanks for listening

I would be somewhat leery of buying one this year as well. But then absolutely nothing wrong with my 09 with 60,000kms. I am keeping it for a few more years.

Ya I'm just going to grind it out till the end of lease in August.. You have like zero mileage I have 70k in on a 2012 lolol. I drive a ton obviously
The mileage on the lease is bugging me cause it will cost me some at the end and what really did it for me is I lost the freaking bolts from my summer tires and it will be like 8 bucks a piece each!!!! But other wise not a problem with the car at all

I am in a lease as well that ends this year. I have been so excited about the thought of the 2015 Fit and debating on ending my lease early to get one (mine goes til Oct). I have to be honest, the more I read from this Forum the more nervous I become. I'm not sure if the percentage of Fits with problems is really as high as it seems or if it's just that more people with problems than not post here.

Like many of you, I have been both eager to upgrade, and apprehensive over the many problems I've been hearing about production issues in Mexico. In addition, I have some first hand experience with manufacturing in Mexico, as the company I work for has an assembly plant there.

Despite my apprehension, yesterday I took delivery of my '15 EX MT. Initial impressions seem to dispel any misgivings I had about the car itself. I couldn't be happier with it! Time will tell, I suppose, but I'm pretty sure that if you can GET a car, you'll be happy with it as well.

I heard the production issues had to do with not being able to get parts because of the port workers strike, but that's over now right?

Somewhat of the issue yes. Strike is over but will be another 3-4 months before ports return to normal operations

Approaching 3k on ours, the only issue has been the bottom falling off. Fortunately, the other bolts held the bottom shield from falling all the way off and some duct tape kept it on to the dealer for a quick fix.

Ya I am just wondering how they are going to work this out.. sounds like they are back ordered and already have plans for the new ones to come out...

That is why I am thinking they will be extending these good lease rates in Canada.. I'm sure there are plenty of upset customers

I figured I waited this long will have to at least check the HRV but god knows how long they will take to come out since its built at same factory

I just know I had a 2010 and 2012 sport and I had no issues whatsoever with both. only time it saw a shop was for oil

I have a few issues with mine, I haven't brought it in yet but so far there's knocking in the rear suspension, both sides, whenever I go over any bumps in the road. Also. Rusty water is leaking out of the driver's side doorhandle.

I'm a bit disappointed, but otherwise, I am basically in love.

You always hear tales about endless problems with a new factory. However, they are usually not really there. Just urban tales. Good cars have been coming out of Mexico for a long time. I had more problems with my 09 and 10 Fits than I have had with my 15. In fact, other than the bumper recall, since mine was one of the first built, it has been perfect.

Ditto. 9 months and counting. Nothing to cry about.

Same with us! We love the car and have no complaints! I wish we were this happy with the previous new cars we have purchased over the years.
