Isn't the third gen the one that uses the ABS sensors to tell if the tires seem to be different sizes when rolling?

Good logic, except that there are no sensors! The system works by sensing relative changes in the rotation rate of the tires, so if you reset the system at 40PSI and one tire drops to 35 it will trip the light as the "low" tire rotates slightly faster.

It's a Mickey Mouse system, but at least they got rid of the wheel sensors that tire dealers would "accidentally" break to add a bonus to your new tire bill.

That happens to be the exact same blend I use in MY tires! How about that!
